Mr. Chong Soon Min (Jason), Chief Executive Officer/Non-Independent Executive Director, joined Manulife Holdings Bhd’s asset management arm in February 2010 as Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director.
Following the merger of Manulife Malaysia’s asset management and unit trust businesses in July 2012, known today as Manulife Investment Management (M) Berhad (MIMMB) previously known as Manulife Asset Management Services Bhd, Jason was the Chief Investment Officer/Managing Director. In May 2017 he was promoted to Chief Executive Officer/Executive Director.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance (honors) from the University of Southern New Hampshire, USA, as well as a Capital Markets and Services Representative License in Fund Management and a certified Financial Planner in Malaysia.
Mr. Chong has more than 30 years of experience in the investment industry. Before joining Manulife, he was Chief Investment Officer of another asset management company where he was responsible for the management of Malaysian and regional funds totaling approximately RM5 billion. Prior to that, Mr. Chong spent 14 years as an investment analyst covering both local and foreign equities, with his last position as Head of Research at Merrill Lynch/Smith Zain Securities.
Ms. Yooi Foong Hing LL.B (Hons) Malaya, is the Head of Compliance of the Manager.
She is the designated person responsible for all compliance matters of the Manager. Ms. Yooi graduated from University of Malaya with a LL.B (Hons) Degree and started her career as a practising lawyer. She has more than 21 years of experience in legal, corporate and financial services industry. Prior to joining the Manager, she was the Head of Compliance of MAAKL Mutual Bhd. Before joining the unit trust industry, she was with a public-listed company involved in property development as a manager in the Legal and Secretarial Department.
Mr. Kenneth Kwong, FCCA, is Head of Finance with over 15 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry.
Prior to joining the company, he had worked for the largest financial services group in Malaysia and has held key positions in finance and strategy, having served both in Malaysia as well as regionally. Kenneth is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
Mr. Reuben Nair is the Head of Operations.
Before joining Manulife Investment Management, he was the SVP, Head of Operations Transaction Management at Citi Group Securities Services, Malaysia. Prior to that, Reuben held the position of Associate Director, Client Operations at RBC Investor Services. Reuben had also gained much experience at HSBC Securities Services for 8 years managing APAC & EMEA Operations with short term assignment in Hong Kong running Custody initiatives.
Ms. Linda Wong Yuet Kheng is the Head of Marketing.
She is responsible for the marketing, sales campaign, events, advertising, branding, social media and communications for the Manager. Prior to joining the Manager, she was the Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications Department of MAAKL Mutual Bhd and prior to that she was attached to Public Mutual Berhad for 8 years. She has over 18 years of experience in the unit trust industry. Having previously served in the electronic, chemicals and currently in the financial industry, she has accumulated vast sales and marketing experience in her career. Linda graduated from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), UK, and is also a Post Graduate Diploma holder in Business & Management from the University of Wales, UK. She subsequently pursued her MBA in Business & Management from the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside, UK.
Ms. Cheryl Law Chor Kun is the Head of Product Development of the Manager.
She is responsible for the overall product development and management of the Manager's funds. She has over 14 years of experience in the banking and unit trust/ asset management industry, with 11 years in product development function in the unit trust/ asset management industry. Cheryl holds a Bachelor's Degree in Science from Universiti Putra Malaysia. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.
Puan Wan Shuhaida Wan Zainal Shukri joined Manulife Investment Management (M) Berhad (Registration No. 200801033087 (834424-U)) in October 2018 as Assistant Vice President, Institutional & Pension Sales.
She has over 16 years of experience in the unit trust and asset management industry in Malaysia, with 12 years in sales, marketing and client servicing of unit trust and discretionary mandates for corporate and institutional clients.
Prior to joining the Manager, Puan Shuhaida was with BNP Paribas Berhad, marketing BNP Paribas securities services product solutions including global custody scope of services to institutional & corporate clients in Malaysia.
Chuah Poh Thye is the Head of Information Technology.
He graduated from University of Malaya with a Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours).
He has over 20 years of experience in the technology sector within the financial institutions, including 15 years in Manulife. He holds extensive expertise in the implementation and integration of transfer agency application. In September 2023, he was appointed as the Interim Head of Information Technology.
Prior to joining Manulife, he was a system engineer in developing group and life insurance core applications at both Etiqa Insurance Berhad and MAA Insurance Berhad.
Mr. Gan Kong Yik, Head of Equity
Mr. Gan joined the Manager in November 2021 as Head of Equity leading the equity team. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business degree majoring in Economics and Finance from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. He has more than 20 years of experience in the investment related industry. Prior to joining the Manager, he was the General Manager of the Investment Department of a public listed company managing their global mandate funds. Before that, he was the Head of Equity (Conventional) with AmFunds Management Berhad where he managed regional unit trust funds, pension and insurance funds. He is also a holder of the Capital Markets and Services Representative’s License in fund management.
Mr. Gan is the designated fund manager for Manulife Investment Al-Fauzan, Manulife Investment Progress Fund and Manulife Investment Shariah Progress Plus Fund and Manulife Shariah - Dana Ekuiti.
Ms. Elsie Tham Lai Ching, Head of Fixed Income & Client Portfolio Manager
Ms. Elsie is the lead manager for the fixed income portion of MIMMB’s insurance portfolios. She also co-manages the firm’s unit trust fixed income and money market strategies. She has more than 18 years of experience in the investment industry. Before joining the Manager, she served as a Senior Credit Analyst in RAM Rating Services Berhad, providing credit analysis coverage on issuers in the Structured Finance, as well as Consumer Products segments.
Ms. Elsie holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering with Environmental Protection from Loughborough University, UK. She is also a holder of the Capital Markets and Services Representative Licence in Fund Management in Malaysia.
She was nominated as one of the most astute investors in Asian local currency bonds – highly commended in Malaysia by The Asset Benchmark Research in year 2022.
She is the designated fund manager for Manulife Cash Management Fund, Manulife Investment As-Saad, Manulife Bond Plus Fund, Manulife Wholesale Corporate Bond Fund, Manulife Wholesale Government Bond Fund and Manulife Wholesale Bond Fund.
Mr. Oscar Chong Lim Hon, Senior Fixed Income Portfolio Manager
Oscar is the lead manager of several of MIMMB’s unit trust fixed income and money market strategies. He also co-manages the fixed income portion of the firm’s mixed asset strategies and insurance portfolios. He is also part of MIMMB’s credit research team. Oscar has more than 14 years of experience in Malaysia financial markets. Before to joining the firm, Oscar was a fixed income, Sukuk and FX trader and money market dealer in few banking groups. Prior to that, he was an audit trainee in KPMG.
He is Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) chartered holder, Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Chartered Professional in Islamic Finance (CPIF) holder, Pasaran Kewangan Malaysia Certificate (PKMC) holder and holder of Capital Markets and Services Representative License (CMSRL) in Fund Management in Malaysia. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) Accounting from UTAR.
He was nominated as one of the most astute investors in Asian local currency bonds – highly commended in Malaysia by The Asset Benchmark Research in year 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2022.

Ms. Lim Chwee Mee, Designated Portfolio Manager
Ms. Lim has more than 16 years of experience in the fund management industry, where she was involved in fund management, portfolio analytics, quantitative strategies and product development. Ms. Lim holds a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Central Oklahoma. She also holds the Capital Markets and Services Representative Licence in fund management.

Mr. Goh joined the Manager in July 2019 as a Portfolio Manager. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Economics) from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and Master of Philosophy (Economics) from the University of Cambridge. He currently holds the Capital Markets and Services Representative’s License in fund management. Mr Goh has more than 10 years of experience in the banking and asset management industry. Prior to joining Manulife, he was with a bank-backed asset management firm where he managed regional unit trust and discretionary mandate funds.
Mr. Goh is the designated fund manager for Manulife Investment Growth Fund, Manulife Investment Dividend Fund, Manulife Investment Shariah Asia-Pacific ex Japan Fund and Manulife Investment Al-Faid.
Vincent Thien Han Sen, Portfolio Manager, Equity
Mr Vincent joined the Manager in 2022. He has more than 10 years of experience in the banking and asset management industry. Prior to joining Manulife, he co-managed a global portfolio of equities and bonds for a family office based in Malaysia.
Vincent graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Actuarial Studies) from the University of Melbourne. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder, Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) holder and holder of Capital Markets and Services Representative’s License in Fund Management in Malaysia.
He is the designated fund manager for Manulife Investment-ML Flexi Fund, Manulife Investment–ML Shariah Flexi Fund and Manulife Investment–CM Shariah Flexi Fund.
Yeoh Chew Ron, Portfolio Manager, Equity
Mr Yeoh joined the Manager in January 2021 as an Investment Analyst. Mr Yeoh has more than 6 years of relevant working experiences in the banking and asset management industry. Prior to joining Manulife, he was an Equity Analyst in a bank-backed asset management company where he provided research coverage for publicly listed companies in Malaysia.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from The University of Warwick, and he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder. He currently holds the Capital Markets and Services Representative’s License in Fund Management.
