FAQs FOR MANULIFE iFUNDS REGULAR SAVINGS PLAN(RSP)

GENERAL

Customer can now set up both Unit Trust (UT) and Private Retirement Scheme (PRS) accounts via Manulife iFUNDS.

Minimum initial amount to set up Manulife iFUNDS RSP is RM100.

Customers may set up RSP via Manulife iFUNDS RSP menu screen.

  1. Customers may set up a new RSP instruction,
  2. Increase and decrease existing RSP amount within the authority limit
  3. To change RSP funds
  4. To cancel the RSP

Setting up a new RSP through Manulife iFUNDS takes one to two business days.

Customer will receive an acknowledgement via email and SMS.

Yes, to do this, customer needs to cancel the old RSP and create a new RSP.

Manulife iFUNDS will show RSP subscription details in history.  This will include paper and digital transactions.

For UT investment: Customer can select either 10th or 28th of the month for deduction from their bank account.

For PRS investment: The monthly deduction from their bank account will be only on the 3rd of the month.

The cancellation must submit 10 calendar days before the deduction date. For e.g. If a customer cancelled the RSP on the 8th and the deduction date is on the 10th (less than 10 calendar days) it will be cancelled on the next billing cycle. If the deduction date is on the 28th then it will take effect immediately (more than 10 calendar days).

The price will be based on 3rd, 10th or 28th of the month, depending on the deduction date that the customer chose. If the 3rd, 10th or 28th of the month falls on a non-business day, the price will be based on the valuation determined at the end of the next business day.

Customer will receive e-statement (for e-subscriber), hardcopy daily statement (for non e-subscriber). There is no SMS or email confirmation.

Customer will receive notification via email and SMS with the reason mentioned.

For UT & PRS investments: In the setup process, RM1.00 will be deducted from the customer’s bank account to verify that their bank account is valid.  MIMMB will refund this to the customer by increasing the value of the first successful RSP subscription by RM1.00.

For UT investment: For monthly RSP of RM500 or above, the monthly transaction fee is waived. Monthly transaction fee of RM1.50 is charged for monthly RSP of below RM500.

For PRS investment: The monthly transaction fee is not applicable.

No. Investor must be the bank Account Holder.

Customer can go to Regular Savings Plan menu item to check the status of the plan.

Yes, for RSP account with ‘Approved’ status.

If cancellation is made before the cut-off date, customer will be able to cancel via iFUNDS. The cancellation can only be done for RSP account with ‘Approved’ status.

Customer can continue to make the change in Manulife iFUNDS, but the change is only effective after the next collection. Manulife iFUNDS clearly informs the customer of the effective date of any change.

Not immediately. The history will be shown after subscription transactions are made each month. However, the RSP details will show the most updated plan.

For UT investment: Yes, to do this, customer needs to cancel RSP for 10th and enrol for 28th.

For PRS investment: No.

10 calendar days from the monthly cycle deduction dates.

For unsuccessful monthly RSP direct debit payment, customer will receive notification via email and SMS with the reason mentioned.

Customer can print daily statement or confirmation email from their laptop browser.

No verification of customer's signature by bank is needed.
