Social Media scam alert and how to verify the status of a unit trust adviser

1. Stay alert on Social Media scams

Please be aware of scams sent through WhatsApp, Facebook and other social media encouraging, inviting or requesting you to invest.


Avoid Unauthorised Transfers:

You should never transfer monies into any individual’s personal bank account or give cash to any individual as investment payment. All investment payments are required to be made payable to Manulife Investments' bank account.


Verify Communication:

Only trust communications from official Manulife Investments channels listed on our website.


Report Suspicious Activity:
If you encounter suspicious communications, contact our customer service immediately at (03) 2719 9271 (8:45 am - 5:30 pm, Mon-Fri) or email MY_CustomerService@manulife.com. You are advised to make police report of such suspicious messages.


2. How to verify the status of a unit trust adviser

We would like to encourage you to verify the registration status of a unit trust adviser through the Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia “FIMM” website.

You may click on this link: https://www.fimm.com.my/search/ and key in the adviser’s name, FIMM No. or the NRIC/passport number.
